PirateGameThing
Hello!

I'm Vera / PirateGameThing (she/they) and I make videos about bootleg games, unlicensed games, and everything in between. I also do web dev (as you can see here) and can often be found deeply researching something entirely inconsequential.

The purpose of this website is mainly to compile my social links, but you can also find a blog in the header above, as well as some other stuff that I find cool below. Check back every once in a while for updates!

YouTube Channels
PirateGameThing

PirateGameThing is my primary channel, on which I have recently been focusing on deep dives into more obscure bootleg game-related topics. It's also home to a backlog of 50+ older text commentary videos that I made between 2015 and 2021, which admittedly are quite a bit harder to watch.

pyrite

pyrite is my secondary channel, where I upload OST rips, raw gameplay, behind-the-scenes content, and whatever else I want to show off but can't fit on the main channel or social media.

DavidPCM is a friend of mine who composed some music that appears in my videos, made the current PirateGameThing logo, and generally makes really cool stuff. Go check their page out!

Unauthorizon compiles a wealth of pictures of clone consoles from around the internet and has quickly become one of my favorite websites. I enjoy it so much that I developed their new website for them!

Lost in Bygone Gaming hosts dumps of various unlicensed and bootleg games, notably Project Plug & Play, and resources to emulate said games.

The digital Video Game History Foundation Library was recently launched, allowing easy browsing of their extensive archive of video game history research materials. For example, if you're into bootlegs (which you probably are), this 479-page report on counterfeit Nintendo games is a great read.
